Rita Marley hospitalised


KINGSTON, JAMAICA (CARIBUPDATE/SEPT 23, 2016) – Rita Marley, the wife of late reggae icon Bob Marley, has been hospitalised in Miami after suffering from a stroke, it is being reported here.

Marley, who regularly lives in Ghana, was in the US city to attend an event, but her appearance has since been cancelled.

Two of her three children with Bob, lives in the Miami area, and so she will be close to family during this illness.

Members of the Marley family including her two sons Ziggy and Stephen Marley have rushed to be by her side, sources told us. The family has been tight-lipped about her condition, but our sources are saying that she is in serious condition.

Some online media here is also reporting that she had suffered a stroke before, but this is considered the most serious and members of the family have been tight-lipped about her condition, but have been closely monitoring her condition.

Seventy-year-old Marley, born Alpharita Anderson in Santiago de Cuba in July 1946, is the mother of three of Bob’s 13 children — David (Ziggy), Cedella and Stephen. She married Bob in 1966.
