Grenada Initiates Monetary Assistance For Haiti And Cuba

The National Disaster Management Agency (NaDMA) has taken the decision to reactivate its Natural Disaster Relief Account after consultation with government officials. This has become necessary after receiving CDEMA’s situational report of Hurricane Matthew’s impact on Haiti and Cuba.

The Government of Grenada has initiated a monetary donation drive to give Grenadians and interested persons at home and abroad an opportunity to help our Cuban and Haitian brothers and sisters in this difficult time of need.

The islands of Cuba and Haiti continue to suffer due to the severe impact from the passage of Hurricane Matthew. As a result the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) has decided to make targeted relief interventions in the affected Member States.

Grenada joins this much needed effort in mobilizing its people to join forces to send money so that the people of Haiti and Cuba can begin their process of recovery.

The National Disaster Management Agency (NaDMA) is spearheading the effort and is encouraging the general public to make their donations to the Natural Disaster Relief Fund an account at Grenada Cooperative Bank. The Account number is 121004900.

Persons can make donations to that account from Tuesday 18th, October, 2016 until November 30, 2016.
