GFA Appoints New Commercial Officer

Press Release

The Grenada Football Association is in the process of transforming its image and strengthening its delivery of programmes as part of its strategic planning process. One of the weaknesses identified during the process was the need for organizational strengthening with persons that enhance the skill level within the FA; and that process has already begun.

The GFA is happy to welcome Ms. Areen Lewis as its Commercial Officer and the organization is confident that she has what it takes to deliver. Ms. Lewis comes to the organization with a wealth of experience in Marketing and Events Management.

She is the brainchild behind the successful annual Bucket Vs Cooler and Jouvert in July fetes and has developed extensive networks in the business community over the past few years. The new GFA commercial officer is currently a third year student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance and Management at the St.George’s University.

During her studies she was able to work successfully with international marketing and business students on marketing projects for international companies. Ms. Lewis also heads the Golden Child Foundation, a philanthropic organization which aims to support children in need of school supplies, advice and tutoring services.

The new commercial officer was introduced to members of the business community on Thursday 2nd February at a brunch meeting in which the GFA unveiled its strategic plan. She told the gathering, “I will endeavour to keep our partners happy and ensure they get value for money.”

Sharing his confidence in the new direction of the GFA, President Cheney Joseph said, “We want to make a positive impact on our partners in 2017 and to do so we will leave no stone unturned in getting it right.” The President also believes the GFA is already off to a great start in 2017 saying, “Our recent activities such as the MOU signed with the GUT, improvement in coaching education, establishment of the National Youth League, Club Licensing and hiring of professionals to improve the delivery of our products are some of the signs that have received positive reviews already from many persons including the business community and our affiliates.”
