Minister Nimrod Calls For Inter – Sec Games Agreement

Press release

Beausejour, Carriacou, March 13th, 2017 – On his return last evening from a Caricom – Cuba Foreign Minister’s meeting, Minister of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs, Hon. Elvin Nimrod, was briefed on the status of the preparation for the upcoming Inter – Sec Sports Meet carded for March 13th and 15th at the Hillsborough Playing Field and the Lauriston Mini Stadium.

The Minister was very disappointed to learn that some disagreement exist between the two Secondary Schools, Bishop’s College and Hillsborough Secondary School, and the Carriacou Athletics Committee as to the manner and composition of the team who is supposed to participate in the events.

Minister Nimrod expressed his graved concerns about the potential and prospect of such controversy, not only to undermine the competitive spirits of the athletes, but also to derail the entire event.

Minister Nimrod is therefore appealing to all those persons who are charged with the responsibility to make the event happen to exercise calm and discretion in the dealings in an effort, not only to make the event a reality, but also to make it a resounding success.

“Let us therefore put aside personalities and look at the ‘big’ picture,” said Minister Nimrod.
