Grenadians win big at Sport Shooting Competition in Trinidad

A five-person delegation from the Grenada Gun and Rifle Association (GGRA) returned victorious after a successful performance at the 2017 Calypso Cup Sports Shooting Competition held in Trinidad and Tobago from April 28-30.

Team Grenada performed exceptionally amidst some of the finest sports shooters in the region, winning the top spot in three categories and taking home another five medals.

Grenadian Earl McLeish claimed first place in the Calypso Cup–High Foreign and League Match–High Foreign categories, while Team Grenada won overall gold in the Production Team Division.

The Team was successful in obtaining medals as follows:

Team Grenada:
Production Team Division – 1st Place Overall

Earl Mc Leish:
Calypso Cup – High Foreign – 1st Place Overall
League Match – High Foreign – 1st Place Overall
Calypso Cup – Production D Class – 2nd Place Overall
Production D Class – 2nd Place Overall
Production D Class Champ – 2nd Place Overall

Duane Noel:
Calypso Cup – Production D Class – 3rd Place Overall
Calypso Cup – Division Champion Production Division – 3rd Place Overall

Duane Noel and Shawn Louis:
Last Man Standing (Open) – placed 4th in their respective classes.

Members of the Grenadian delegation included Jeraide Abraham, Tara Frederick, Shawn Louis, Duane Noel and Earl Mc Leish.

The Grenada Gun and Rifle Association congratulates the Team and looks forward to continued success at the upcoming Grenada National Handgun Championship, scheduled to be held on June 10-11 at the GGRA Range in Petite Etang.
