GASA Announces Powerade, Dasani National Swimming Championships

The Grenada Amateur Swimming Association (GASA) announces the return of its annual Powerade, Dasani National Championships this weekend, from Thursday, 23 February to Sunday, 26 February.

The annual event, which also serves as a qualifier for the upcoming CARIFTA Swimming Competitions, is resuming after a 3-year break due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.

The event, which was launched last Wednesday at the Olympic building, Grand Anse, has as its title sponsor the Powerade and Dasani brands and will see eager competitions by competitors from several clubs and other unattached swimmers.

The weekend of swimming competitions promises to be one of high spirits and excitement as competitors aim to earn their positions, improve their times, and make it on the CARIFTA team.

The event begins at 4:15 pm on Thursday with a technical meeting and on Friday at 4 pm. with warm-up sessions. On Saturday, it begins at 7:30 am with warm-up sessions followed by the Opening Ceremony at 9 am. Competitions on Saturday are expected to commence at 9:40 am. On Sunday, warm-up sessions commence at 7:30 am and competitions at 9 am.
