Dr Jullie Du Bois DDS has been selected to be inducted into the distinguished dental organisation, the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
“Congratulations on being accepted as a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy. You now join over 7,000 professionals from around the world who have been recognised as outstanding dentists: the leaders and future of the profession” — Message conveyed to Dr Du Bois by Robert Cattoi, International Executive Director, of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the international dental honour organisation.
Dr Du Bois will be the first Grenadian dentist and the first female, and the second dentist in the region to receive this prestigious fellowship.
The statement issued for her selection referred to being a tribute to her past accomplishments. The honour of fellowship is conferred on dentists who have demonstrated service and have great potential for leadership. This impressive fellowship is extended to fewer than 1% internationally. Dr Du Bois colleagues have recognised her as the best and celebrate and honour her achievements.
Fellowship in the Academy is by nomination and is designed to honour past accomplishments in the field of dentistry and encourage future productivity. Fellows are selected based on contributions to dental literature, service to the profession, and service to the general community.
Dr C R Anderegg, DDS, of Great Shape Inc. and a Director of the Pierre Fouchard Academy, nominated Dr Du Bois for membership in the Academy. He highly recommended her as a member of the dental fraternity that is in good standing.
Dr Du Bois is a practicing dentist for the past 38 years. She is a member of The American Dental Association, Grenada Dental Association (President), and the Caribbean Oral Health Initiative. She recently initiated a successful dental undertaking Seal Grenada which provided free dental sealants, fillings and fluoride treatment to over 500 Grenadian children.
Dr Du Bois is expected to attend the Gala event in Florida to be officially inducted. The 85th Annual Black-Tie Gala will be held on 7 October 2023, in Orlando, Florida, USA. The ceremony will include an induction of new PFA Fellows, the presentation of the annual international awards and the installation of new PFA Officers.
The Pierre Fauchard Academy is an honourary dental service organisation founded in 1936 by Dr Elmer S Best, a Minnesota dentist. Troubled by the proprietary nature of many dental publications, he wanted to help the profession gain control of its own literature and assure its independence from commercial interests.
The Academy is named after Pierre Fauchard of France (1678–1761), who is recognised as the “Father of Modern Dentistry” for raising dentistry to a profession.
