ST. GEORGE’S, Grenada- Two of Grenada’s top goalkeeper coaches are headed to Wilmington this June to hone their skills at the premier global training event for their profession. Desmond Noel and Denrol Jules will attend the 8th International Goalkeeper Coaches Conference from June 21-23, joining elite coaches from around the world to learn cutting-edge techniques for developing top goalie talent.
“We’re thrilled Desmond and Denrol will represent our region at this renowned conference,” said Carl Lee, General Secretary of the GFA. “They’ll return with invaluable knowledge to help train the next generation of star goalkeepers on the island.”
The intensive three-day conference features goalkeeper coaching education from the best in the business. Esteemed presenters include Phil Wheddon, Director of Goalkeeping for the Philadelphia Union; Richard Hartis, Men’s First Team Goalkeeper Coach at Manchester United; Anthony White, England National Teams Goalkeeper Coach; and Xavi Ferrando, FC Barcelona U19 Goalkeeper Coach.
“This conference is the gold standard for goalkeeper training,” said Noel. “I look forward to learning from the
legends of the game and bringing back new drills and techniques to give our keepers an edge.”
Noel and Jules will immerse themselves in specialized goalkeeper coaching workshops, lectures, and handson training. They aim to absorb the latest methods for improving footwork, shot-stopping, distribution, crosstalk with defenders, and more – skills that separate the good from the great at the keeper position.
“We want to remain ahead of goalkeeper coaching,” added Noel. “This conference will allow us to reach new heights in our coaching and radically transform keeper training in Grenada.”
