(St. George’s, Grenada) Following six exhilarating days of competition, the Spicemas Corporation (SMC) is thrilled to announce the semifinalists for the 2024 Groovy & Power Soca Monarch competition. The preliminary round, held from Wednesday 10 July to Monday, 15 July at the Tanteen Netball Court, showcased the exceptional talent of nearly 200 Grenada’s new and seasoned Soca artistes.
CEO of the SMC Cecil Noel remarked, “The level of talent displayed on stage was nothing short of phenomenal. Each artiste brought their unique energy and creativity. We are immensely proud of all participants and look forward to even more spectacular performances in the semifinals.”

Power Soca Semifinalists: Dash, Bubbah 473, Reginal, Khalifah, Muddy, Riggy Atmosphere, Mushman, Shamak, Lil Jelo, Soca Shaq, Lednek, Squeeze Head, Super Flying Flint, Soca Jeff, Topcat/Blazzer, Cryave, Mad-K, Lil Kerry, Boyzie, Shequan, Baby L, Walkie Dan, Hitz, Alma Boy, Twiggy, Snakey, Happy Boy, Yung Madd, Moses Ranks, and Carriacou Power Soca Monarch Playboy HTD.
The Brian Griffith Groovy Soca Semifinals will take place on Thursday, 25 July 2024 and the Dr. Trevor Friday Power Soca Semifinals will be held on Friday, 26 July 2024. Both events will be hosted at Progress Park, St. Andrew starting at 8:00pm.
Competitors in the Groovy Soca Monarch are vying for a $50,000 cash prize, a title currently held by multitime Soca Monarch Boyzie. The Power Soca Monarch offers a $100,000 top prize, $80,000 in cash and $20,000 in kind. Multitime Power Soca Monarch Terra D Governor is the reigning Power Soca King. The grand finale is scheduled for Friday, 9 August 2024 at the Kirani James Athletic Stadium.
