Grenada is celebrating a moment of national pride as Carriacou native Jamora Alves has been honored as the Indoor Track and Field MVP by the St. John’s University Athletic Department. The announcement came during the university’s 79th Annual Athletics Awards Celebration, recognizing outstanding performances across all sports programs for the 2024–25 season.
Alves, a standout thrower, delivered a stellar season highlighted by personal bests of 15.69 meters in the shot put and 54.33 meters in the discus throw. These achievements not only propelled her to the top of her team but also earned her world rankings of #218 in the women’s shot put and #333 in the discus throw, according to the latest international athletics data.
