GHTA Culinary Team Wins Silver At Taste Of The Caribbean 2025

The Grenada Hotel & Tourism Association (GHTA) proudly announces that the GHTA Culinary Team has earned Silver in the National Team of the Year category at the prestigious Taste of the Caribbean 2025 competition held in Barbados.

This remarkable accomplishment highlights Grenada’s rising culinary excellence and the exceptional talent showcased by the team on one of the region’s most competitive gastronomic stages.

Grenada also celebrated a strong performance in the individual competitions:

  • Rashid Cromwell, competing as Junior Chef, secured Silver, demonstrating creativity, technique, and maturity beyond his years
  • Elvis George, Grenada’s Senior Chef representative, delivered an impressive eRort that earned him Bronze
  • Sasha Lessey, competing in the Pastry category, also took home Bronze for her refined approach of Grenada’s national dish recreated as an innovative dessert
  • In the Mixology category, Antonio Bayne added to Grenada’s medal count with a Bronze for his original and well-executed cocktail presentation focused on Jab culture

Together, these achievements reflect the depth of skill, passion, and determination within Grenada’s culinary community.

GHTA CEO Arlene Friday extended heartfelt congratulations to the team, praising their commitment and dedication: “I am immensely proud of the GHTA Culinary Team. Their performance and commitment were extraordinary, and they represented the tri-island state with passion, professionalism, and creativity. This success highlights the continued growth of Grenadian culinary arts and the immense talent emerging from our tourism and hospitality sector.”

The 2025 Culinary Team was expertly led by Team Captain Chef Andre Church of RTA Services, whose guidance and leadership were integral to the team’s preparation and performance. Supporting him was Team Logistics Manager Chef Belinda Bishop of Flavours of Grenada, whose coordination and dedication helped ensure the team’s seamless participation throughout the competition. Special appreciation is extended to Coach and mentor Chef Ramces of Six Senses La Sagesse for his invaluable expertise, training, and encouragement.

The GHTA expresses profound gratitude to the sponsors whose support made the team’s participation possible.
