Grenada’s 2025 GFA Premier League champions, St. John’s Sports, are set to carry the nation’s hopes onto the regional stage as they prepare to compete in the 2026 Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Club Shield, which takes place in Trinidad and Tobago from July 23 to August 2, 2026.
The Grenada Football Association (GFA) has extended its best wishes to the champions as they embark on their regional campaign, expressing confidence that the club will represent Grenadian football with pride, determination, and professionalism.
St. John’s Sports will begin their tournament journey with a highly anticipated opening fixture against Dublanc FC of Dominica, a match expected to provide an early test of the Grenadian club’s quality and ambitions.
The CFU Club Shield has become one of the Caribbean’s premier club competitions, providing champion clubs from across the region with the opportunity to compete at a higher level while showcasing the strength of Caribbean football.
Beyond regional recognition, the tournament carries even greater significance as it serves as the qualifying competition for the Concacaf Caribbean Cup. Both the champion and runner-up of the CFU Club Shield will secure places in the Confederation’s 10-team Caribbean Cup, moving one step closer to qualification for the prestigious Concacaf Champions Cup, where clubs compete on the international stage against the region’s elite.
