Grenada’s National swimmer Delron Felix departs for Buenos Aires, Argentina today to compete in the Youth Olympic Games to be staged from October 6 -18th. Felix will represent swimming as part of Grenada’s four-member delegation of athletes who will be competing at the Youth Olympic Games.
Felix, while competing at CCCAN in Aruba earlier in July, swam the 100M Freestyle in a time of 53.14 seconds. This time achievement made him the first Grenadian swimmer to make the qualification standard for the Youth Olympic Games that started in 2010.
Felix, who has been attending the SPIRE Institute in Ohio, has received advanced training in support of his swimming development since the commencement of 2018. This training has aided in his continued development and readiness to compete in the various regional and International meets he has participated in for 2018.
“Delron continues to demonstrate that he is an excellent ambassador for swimming in Grenada”, stated Peron Johnson, GASA President. He continues to work closely with his coaches, and is committed to his training programme. We look forward to a very strong performance from him in Argentina and wish him all the best as he represents Grenada on this world swimming stage.
