Grenada Sends 12 Boxers To Caribbean Boxing Championships

Twelve boxers and three officials are representing Grenada at the 2018 Caribbean Boxing Championships which begin at the Cliff Anderson Sport Hall in Guyana today.
The team includes six boxers in the elite category, three in the youth, two novices and one female boxer.
The boxers in the elite category are Shevon Lewis (super heavyweight), Dariel Sylvester (heavyweight), Timon Gilbert (light heavyweight), Rufus Clement (welterweight), Joshua Redhead (middleweight), and Nelon Cyrus (lightweight).
Raphael Clement (lightweight), Brandon Taylor (middleweight) and Henry Sylvester (flyweight) will fight in the youth category.
Prince Henry (welterweight) and Andy Andel (super heavyweight) will see action in the novice category while Corine Mapp, the lone female boxer in the Grenada contingent, will compete in the youth category.
The coaches are Sebastien Stiell and Shayne Joseph with Lyle Bullen as the referee.
Henry, Taylor and Cyrus will open their campaign in the first session on the opening day against Trinidadian boxers. Henry fights against Shawn Jackson, Taylor against Tyron Thomas and Cyrus against Jessie Beckles.
