Grenada Gets Gold & Bronze At CCCAN Swim Championship

It has been an exciting weekend of swimming thus far for the Grenada National Swim team who are competing at the Central American & Caribbean Amateur Swimming Confederation Championships (CCCAN) from June 28 – July 3, 2019.

Grenada’s Oreoluwa Cherebin swam  an exciting race in the 200 m Breaststroke in a time of 2:49.53 earning the distinct honour of a Gold Medal placement on Saturday night.

On Sunday it was young Nathan Fletcher’s turn.  In his first CCCAN appearance, he swam away with a Bronze medal in the boys 11-12 50M Butterfly. Grenada’s medal count stands at two as of Sunday night.

A 14-member team is representing Grenada at CCCAN.  The team has seen Personal best performances from Zackary Gresham who advanced to the final in the 50m Backstroke, Delron Felix in the 50m butterfly and Parshawn Haynes in the 100 m butterfly.

Competition continues today with the final day being Tuesday July 2nd, as the team continues its quest for more podium moments.

Three Swimmers will advance to the final tonight: Oreoluwa Cherebin, Zackary Gresham and Anaika Charles.  All swimmers will be competing in the 50 m Breaststroke.
