The Grenada Paralympics Committee will be represented at two of the major activities leading up to next year’s Para Pam American Games to be staged in Lima , Peru.
The activities are the Proud Paralympians Workshop and Classification Workshop for the sport of Boccia. Grenada’s top Para athlete, Ishona Charles who competes in the javelin, will be among participants from throughout the Americas attending the three-day workshop October 12 to `14, while Dr. Alister Antoine.will join medical practitioners in a knowledge enhancement program for Classification for Boccia – a sport which is mainly played by the physically challenged.
The Workshops are being sponsored by the Agitos Foundation along with the Peru Paralympics Committee and the Organizing Committee for the 2019 Pam American Games.
The Proud Paralympian Workshop will aim at athletes of all sport in order to provide them with knowledge and resources that will help in their professional development during and after their sport career and are aspiring to become leaders of the Paralympics movement,
Grenada has never participated in an international Paralympics games but is hoping that its athletes can achieve the qualifying standard for next year’s Pam American Games in Peru
