Two organizations were the recipients of Over Fifteen Thousand Dollars this morning at The Beacon Insurance Company Ltd. office in Calliste. The Grenada Community Development Agency was the recipient of $10,000 Dollars which will aid them in sponsoring five students for the first year of the their Secondary Education and the Rotary Club of Grenada East receive a check in the sum of $6,000 dollars to aid them with the WASH Project.
As part of their growing CSR program in the OECS markets, Beacon has identified two main areas of interest to which they would like to contribute – Community and Education. Beacon is a company that operates through traditional family values and believes that education is key to ensuring that young people are able to understand right from wrong. In so doing, stronger and more resilient communities are built. They have hosted several movie nights on the island in the St. George’s area in the past, encouraging the communities to come out and share some quiet time with each other, creating a shared sense of purpose within the parishes.
It is Beacon’s hope that the selected partnerships will help to create an improved learning environment for the school children.
