Beausejour, Carriacou, Thursday, October 18th, 2018: The Northern District of the Royal Grenada Police Force, as part of it’s Community Policing Initiative, handed over a chicken run to the Harvey Vale Government School on the sister-isle of Carriacou.
The initiative seeks to benefit all primary schools in Carriacou and Petite Martinique in partnership with the community, local businesses and the Northern District of the Royal Grenada Police Force in an effort of bridging the gap between the community and the police.
Officer in charge of the Northern District of the Royal Grenada Police Force, ASP Langdon, said that the initiative clearly defines policing.
He added that based on the projects done in Carriacou and Petite Martinique, an application will be made to the Caribbean Commissioner of Police vying for the Caribbean Community Policing Project Award 2018.
Principal of the Harvey Vale Government School, Mrs. Thereia Mills, said that the school is very grateful to the police and the business community and assured that best care will be given.
Minister of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs, Hon. Kindra Maturine-Stewart, in her remarks said that the initiative not only speaks to the community and police partnership, but also to eradicating hunger and poverty by 2030.
Minister Stewart applauded the Northern District of the Royal Grenada Police Force for spearheading such project.
