Government is providing clarity on the categories of public officers who are eligible to receive the 4% salary increase which goes into effect this month.
The salary increase applies to established officers holding letters of appointment issued by the Public Service Commission; unestablished workers holding open-ended letters of appointment issued by the respective Permanent Secretaries, as well as daily paid workers.
Persons holding fixed term contracts are not eligible for the salary increase.
It was announced this week that the 4% salary increase is the third and final portion of a 10% increase agreed to with trade unions representing the workers. Increases of 3% percent have already been paid to public officers for each of the two preceding years, 2017 and 2018.
Government will spend more than $6 million dollars on the salary increases alone.
