The former Student of Mac Donald College in St Patrick, is attending the Paul Robeson High School in New York.
The Track & Field athlete’s latest outing saw her winning the Invitational Girls’ Javelin event at the New York Relays on Saturday.
But while Holly continues to succeed in Track & Field, she also plays the game of Cricket.
The multi-talented athlete was recently part of a cricket camp in Florida.
Holly spoke to Triple N Sports over the weekend.
According to holly since she migrated to the United States she continued following her dream in sports, track & field (Short Put Discus, Javelin).
The athlete has even started doing a new event “Weight Throw” an according to her she is very good at it.
But with a burning passion inside for the game of cricket holly went to Florida to try out to be a member of the US team on January 20th-25th 2019.
According to Holly she is now the fastest female bowler in the United States. She played the first game in the try outs taking 4 wickets and scored 29 runs, amazing the officials at the try outs.
But due to the eligibility rules of the American Cricket association where you would have to be residing in the US for a minimum of 3 years. And the time she went up to the United States, she has not been living there 3 years at yet, so she couldn’t be selected as a player on the team.
Despite the minor setback Holly is not giving up on playing cricket.
In the meanwhile, she will continue competing in Track & Field events.
The proud athlete thanks all those who contributed to her success thus far.
