Grenada is currently preparing to host two international matches which will feature West Indies and Ireland, and there is optimism that more international matches could be coming to the Grenada National Stadium.
The Grenada National Stadium will host the 3rd Colonial Medical Insurance ODI and the 1st Sandals T20 between the Irish and the Windies on Sunday January 12th and Wednesday January 15th.
The revelation was made by Minister for Youth, Sports Culture and the Arts Senator Norland Cox, at the weekly post Cabinet Press Briefing on Tuesday January 7th 2020.
Cox disclosed Cricket West Indies is working with Grenada to assist in the country’s bid to host international matches.
The Minister said, “We want to also say that Cricket West Indies Board. We have been working with them closely, and they have been working with us to give some support to ensure that cricket continues to come to Grenada”.
He added, “ we had cricket in 2018, England was here in 2019, and we have cricket here in 2020.
Cox also revealed that the Pakistan Cricket team is expected to play the West Indies in Grenada in August this year.
