Grenada’s PM Dr.Keith Mitchell says he plans to present a proposal to the social partners, for the creation of a social fund that will be used to help the most vulnerable in our society.
The PM said he will lead by example, as he would be contributing a portion of his salary every month to help those in need. Mitchell promised to encourage Cabinet colleagues to do the same.
“If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth”, he quoted.
“I assure you that if this fund is successfully started, apart from our individual donations, members of Government will not have any involvement in this fund. The way I envision it, the social partners will establish an independent committee to manage and disburse the funds acquired through this effort,” he added.
The social partners will establish an independent committee to manage and disburse the funds acquired through this effort.
