Happy Teachers’ Day to all our teachers. I salute every teacher who has embraced teaching as a vocation (a calling to serve humanity), and has gone beyond the call of duty to be more than an educator, but an inspiration to every student.
I challenge you to continue being agents of change.
During this very difficult period, many of you have demonstrated great leadership and
have turned many challenges into opportunities. Moving from the face-to-face mode to online teaching and learning was indeed a challenge, but your attitude and your willingness to learn and try, created a wonderful opportunity for students.
Brian Tracy once said that ‘the test of true leadership is how well you function in a crisis.’ Indeed you are leaders.
So I wish to take the opportunity once more to thank you for all your efforts and sacrifices, and at the same time, challenge you to remain focused on the global education target of ‘leaving no child behind.’
May every student in your care be inspired to be the best that they can be, and may God
grant you all that is necessary to be the best teacher that you can be.
The Ministry of Education remains committed to your wellbeing and will continue to work towards improving the teaching environment and addressing the issues that affect you.
Happy Teachers’ Day to all of you!!
