The Grenada Football Association (GFA) is making another investment in elevating the level of refereeing in the country with the hosting of a FIFA Referee Assistance Programme (RAP).
It will be held from November 18-23 at the GFA Conference Room from 9:00 a.m.
Referees will benefit from the expertise of FIFA and local instructors while participating in theory and field/practical sessions highlighting the various aspects of refereeing.
In preparation for this workshop, participants were tested with rapid tests for COVID-19 which is a FIFA stipulation for maintaining health and safety in all their activities.
In looking ahead to the workshop, Chairman of the GFA Referees’ Committee Allan James said, “I encourage the referees to fully embrace this great opportunity since what they do is equally critical in lifting the standard of the game.”
Throughout the pandemic, the GFA Referee Department has remained steadfast in organizing activities to enhance the skillset of referees including virtual sessions on laws of the game and regular training and fitness sessions.
