Nimrod Ollivierre Is The New Caretaker For The NNP In The St. George’s North East Constituency

The New National Party is pleased to announce the selection of its new Constituency Caretaker for the St. George North East Constituency Mr. Nimrod Ollivierre. The selection of Mr. Ollivierre at the New National Party – St. George North East Constituency Branch Meeting on Thursday 13th January at the Boca Secondary School took place under strict COVID-19 protocols.

A full contingent of delegates representing each polling division in the constituency attended the meeting and selected Mr. Ollivierre un-opposed. The activity was conducted by General Secretary of the New National Party Mr. Roland Bhola. Also in attendance were Senator Norland Cox and Senator Victor Phillip.

In an emotional maiden address Mr. Ollivierre thanked those gathered for their unwavering support of both himself and the New National Party. He emphasized the importance of working together as a unit to achieve the victory once again for the New National Party in the constituency and by extension nationally when the time comes.

“It’s the beginning of a bond, it’s the beginning of a marriage between all of us, because I cannot do it by myself. We have to do it together. ” Said Ollivierre as he proceeded to call on the delegates to continue working together to build the constituency.

ON NIMROD OLLIVERRE

Born and raised in the parish of St. George; the proud son of Maria Scott Ollivierre of Mardigras, St. George and Rodney Ollivierre of Fontenoy, St. George deceased. He is married to Ayesha Calliste Ollivierre and is the father of six (6).

Attended the St George’s Anglican Junior and Senior Schools “Hindsey School”, after which he attended the Grenada Boys’ Secondary School (GBSS) and then the former Institute for Further Education (known as IFE) now part of TAMCC.

Migrated to the United States of America in 1989, where he successfully continued his formal education and attained a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice with Honours. And a Masters Degree in Public Administration with Honours

He has served in Military with a successful career in the US army including serving in the Middle East.

On discharge from the Army he worked with the New York City Police Department, until his retirement in August of 2020 at the rank of Lieutenant. Ollivierre has during his policing career received numerous awards and commendations including the coveted medal of valor, (NYPD 3rd highest honor).

Nimrod has remained rooted in his Grenadian community both locally and in the diaspora, contributing to various outreach projects in the health, business, and national security sectors. Additionally, he remained actively involved in promoting numerous sporting and cultural activities, throughout Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique including the locally and internationally recognized White in the Moonlight.

He has been involved with numerous other organizations including the GBSS Alumni, the NYPD-RGPF Officers’ Association and the Grenada Cultural Festival Group Incorporated.

He took immense pride in mentoring young Grenadians in the NYPD and the Grenadian community at large, by serving as a buffer between nationals in the Diaspora and the NYPD, and guiding individuals appropriately.

He has been an avid supporter of the New National Party for many years and an executive member of the NNP-New York Chapter since 2013.
