Over the course of three days, first and second-year Art students of the T. A. Marryshow Community College had the opportunity to dive into an integral part of the culture surrounding Carnival on the sister isle: Shakespeare Mas.
Mr. Glenroy Boatswain from Carriacou visited the Art & Design students to give a lecture on Shakespeare Mas and to facilitate a workshop on mask making for the Shakespeare Mas’ costume.
First-year students got the opportunity to create their own unique masks. Second-year students will use the knowledge gained during the workshop to complete upcoming cultural projects.
