Minister of Youth, Sports & Culture Hon. Ron Redhead, on Friday received a courtesy call from Grenadian-Born Professional Basketball Player Arkim Robertson.
Discussions focused on varying areas of cooperation between himself and the Ministry, particularly a Basketball Clinic for young people, across the tri-island.
Mr. Robertson was also greeted by Permanent Secretary Ms. Kim Frederick and Office Assistant Ms. Kizelle Gilbert.
Mr. Arkim Robertson, 28, is a professional basketball player, born in Conference St. Andrew but grew up in Grand Roy, St.John.
In 2014, Robertson secured a scholarship to play for western Oklahoma State University where he played for two (2) years. In 2016 Robertson was transferred to California State University and in his junior season, made it to the quarterfinals.
In 2018, Robertson became the first Grenadian to be part of a winning college team at the NCAA Division 1 Championship Conference final and went on to play in the much-coveted March Madness Tournament.
He is presently a power forward who most recently played for Lugano Tigers in Switzerland – SBL
