Spice Princesses at Top of the Leaderboard in the Jewels of the Caribbean Tournament

The Spice Princesses are leading in the point standings following their match against St. Lucia in the Jewels of the Caribbean U15 Girls Tournament.

The match on Wednesday saw the teams being evenly matched with neither team being able to convert before halftime and after the full 70 minutes of play, despite many attempts.

However, in extra time (70+2’), a penalty kick was awarded to Grenada which Abigail Williams clinically converted making it her 4th tournament goal.

Team Grenada, having recorded two (2) wins and a draw, now have seven (7) points at the top of the table, bypassing hosts Antigua who recorded one (1) win and two (2) draws.

Head Coach of the National U15 Girls Team Rockel Hood is happy with the tournament performance and progress of her players.

She said, “The girls are growing in confidence and really applying what they learnt during training. I am proud of how far they have come and the talent in this group is strong. Once we win against St.Vincent and the Grenadines, we will win the tournament.”

The team will play their final match against St.Vincent and the Grenadines on Friday August 19 at 7pm.
