Grenada Hotel and Tourism Association (GHTA) hosted a job fair on Saturday, November 5th at the Trade Show Annex from 9am-3pm. Hundreds of attendees hoping to find a fresh start, a better job, or new career direction were met with a wealth of exciting employment opportunities at this free event. Numerous local employers from a variety of tourism providers were eager to hire for immediate openings in a wide range of fields.
Job seekers had an opportunity to speak with over 25 businesses and gather employment information directly from representatives from hotels, tour operators, restaurants, water sport operators, restaurants and culinary services. For job seekers looking to enhance their skill sets, attendees had an opportunity to get CV and interview assistance and meet with companies like WISH and National Training Agency to learn about free skills training and certification services. Registrants also had an opportunity to learn about job placement services and GHTA’s recently launched affordable group health insurance plan.
Ms. Arlene Friday, GHTA’s CEO said, “we are excited by the community response to GHTA’s inaugural Job Fair. This event offered registrants an opportunity to connect Grenada’s talented workers with employers throughout the tourism industry. The job fair was a great way to connect face-to-face with employers, get industry exposure, gain confidence and learn of free skill training opportunities. Ms. Friday also mentioned, “GHTA’s job fair was designed to increase job opportunities and skill development for Grenadians while filling the labor force gaps within the tourism sector. As tourism has reopened, GHTA continues to develop new and innovative ways to help move the industry forward.”
