Caribbean Heads of Government gathered in Nassau, The Bahamas, from February 15-17, 2023, for the 44th Regular Meeting of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).

Grenada’s Prime Minister, Honourable Dickon Mitchell, accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Honourable Joseph Andall, met with colleague Heads of Government and Ministers of Foreign Affairs to discuss matters of critical importance to the peace, security, and economic stability of the Caribbean region.

In the main, discussions centred on climate change, food security, health, regional security, and the CARICOM Single Market and Economy, towards the advancement of Caribbean integration and the growth of national and regional economies.

Specific deliberations were held on the deteriorating situation in Haiti, with a view to advance sustainable peace and prosperity in that CARICOM Member State. Heads of Government also received a report on disturbances in the Republic of Suriname and condemned all acts of violence in that country.
