Close to 160 young men and women turned up at the Grenada Trade Centre on Saturday 11th March 2023, to meet with potential employers in an event organized by the Ministry of Mobilisation, Implementation and Transformation (MIT). Present at the event were representatives from Geo. F. Huggins Ltd., Silver Sands, SonRise Construction Inc, Clear Harbor, and Pest Boys.
Whilst the event gave people immediate access to employment by the companies present, it also set the foundation for future collaboration and partnership with the private sector. Hon. Andy Williams and Permanent Secretary, Ms. Peron Johnson, from the Ministry of Mobilisation Implementation and Transformation were supported by Ministers Cornwall, Redhead and La Crette, who not only acknowledged the significance of the exercise, but also pledged continued support for future initiatives geared towards transforming the socioeconomic conditions of Grenadians. Their involvement signals the turn of a new chapter into the quality and level of transformative development that Grenada and its citizens can realize.
Minister Williams passionately encouraged all participants to access and make use of every opportunity afforded. Participants also benefitted from a timely and appropriate career coaching session by Ms. Dawne Mark, and professional development training from other employers present at the event.
Minister Williams and the MIT intend to take the ‘Let’s Talk’ to other parishes, including Carriacou and Petite Martinique, to allow all Grenadians the opportunity to participate in the transformation journey.
Citizens are encouraged to continue to follow MIT’s social and other releases to keep abreast of development trends and activities.
