The Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports, and Culture congratulates the Grenada Swim Team for winning the OECS Swim Championship, held at the Rodney Heights Aquatic Centre in Gros Islet, St. Lucia over the weekend.
The team tied for first place with Antigua and Barbuda.
Several medals were won, along with three high point age group awards. Each swimmer set personal bests (PBs) in their races.
The team’s perseverance over the three days of intense competition was highly appreciated by the Ministry, which also congratulates them on their amazing achievement. They have demonstrated tenacity and consistency in raising their game in every competition, and the outcomes are evident.
Commendation is also extended to the Grenada Amateur Swimming Association, as well as all the coaches and support staff who contributed to the swimmers’ success. Grenada had roughly 30 swimmers compete in races ranging from the 8 and under category to the 18 and under category.
The team returns to Grenada during the week.
