Grenada Female Beach Volleyball Team Qualifies for Final Stage of Olympic Beach Volleyball Qualifier

St. George, Grenada  – The Grenada Female Beach Volleyball Team, reigning champions of the Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association (ECVA), has clinched a spot in the final stage of the Olympic Beach Volleyball Qualifier. The tournament is scheduled to take place in Tlaxcala, Mexico, from 20th – 24th June, 2024 and Grenada will be represented by Thornia Mitchell and Renisha Stafford. This achievement marks a significant milestone for Grenada’s beach volleyball community and underscores the team’s exceptional talent and determination on the international stage.

Having dominated the ECVA Beach Volleyball Championship with impressive performances, the Grenadian duo has demonstrated their prowess and readiness for global competition. The team has been meticulously preparing for the Olympic qualifier, focusing on strategic gameplay and physical conditioning to maximize their chances of success.

The Grenada Volleyball Association (GVA) has extended its congratulations to the team, recognizing their outstanding performance in the ECVA Championship and their qualification for the final Olympic qualifier. “These young ladies have grown immensely over the years and dedicated themselves to fully represent their country at the highest level; we are very proud of them, and we know that the country is also very proud of their achievements thus far” said Staciann Lake, President of the GVA. “Their success reflects Grenada’s growing prominence in beach volleyball and our commitment to nurturing talent in the sport.”

As the team prepares to embark on their journey to Tlaxcala, Mexico, they carry with them the hopes and support of a nation eager to witness their competitive spirit and skill on the global stage. The final stage of the Olympic Beach Volleyball Qualifier promises thrilling matches and intense competition as teams vie for a coveted place at the Paris Olympics.

The team departs on Wednesday 19th June and will return on Tuesday 25th June.
