Following the official visit to the People’s Republic of China, Prime Minister Honourable Dickon Mitchell participated in the “Future of Citizenship by Investment” event at Wilton Park, London on January 20th 2025. The three-day event scheduled for January 20-22 will also see participation from Chairman Richard Duncan and Mr. Thomas Anthony, CEO of Grenada’s Investment by Migration Agency.

This Wilton Park dialogue will bring together leaders from Eastern Caribbean states who are running citizenship by investment programmes along with relevant regional and global stakeholders, academic experts and senior representatives from other governments.

The event provides a platform for stakeholders to further build on their understanding and clarify concerns of the CBI programmes across the region.

Prime Minister Honourable Dickon Mitchell will participate in a panel of Caribbean Heads of government aimed at gaining perspectives from Caribbean leaders on progress over the next year and the longer-term strategic vision for CBI in their countries.

Objectives of the Event

  • Enable more structured dialogue about emerging concerns about the role of Citizenship by Investment in the Eastern Caribbean Countries
  • Enhance our shared understanding of the risks generated by CBI, to the Eastern Caribbean and to its international partners
  • Examine the role of the new regional regulator for CBI, coordinated by the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank and paid for with CBI revenues.

Honourable Andy Williams Minister for Mobilisation, Implementation and Transformation will continue to act as Prime Minister until Honourable Dickon Mitchell returns to state on Tuesday 21st January 2025.
