The New National Party (NNP) held its highly anticipated Women’s Convention on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at the Grenada Trade Center in Mourne Rouge, St. George. The event brought together female party delegates from all fifteen (15) constituencies, executive members of the party, and supporters from across Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique.
The convention was held as part of the party’s commitment to empower, mobilize, and engage women in leadership, governance, and community development, encouraging greater participation and influence in national decision-making.
The day’s activities commenced with the registration of delegates, followed by reports from constituency branches, which provided insights into the party’s work at the grassroots level. A key highlight of the morning session was the election of a new Women’s Arm Executive, reaffirming the NNP’s commitment to empowering women within the party’s leadership structure.

Political Leader Hon. Emmalin Pierre encouraged the newly elected executive and delegates to be steadfast advocates for women, reaffirming the party’s unwavering support. Additionally, she announced the formation of a three-member committee, comprising Mrs. Akima Paul-Lambert, Hon. Dr. Clarice Modeste-Curwen, and Dr. Maynana Charles, that will offer guidance and assistance to the Women’s Arm
In a special moment of recognition, the party honored former educator, long-standing party stalwart, and wife of former Governor General, Sir Danny Williams, for her exceptional contributions to the NNP and Grenada.
The Women’s Convention re-affirmed the party’s commitment to strong leadership, national development, and unity as the NNP continues its preparations to rescue Grenada.
