
Twelve national swimmers, six males and six females, have qualified to compete in the thirty-eighth Carifta Aquatic Championships to be held this year in Trinidad from April 17-23, 2025. The swimmers, Keira Cawich, Tilly Collymore, Sara Dowden, Kristin Gresham, Glenes Angeliner Jackson- Bain and Zeia Ollivierre comprise the females and Jaaziel Francis, Kaleb Williams, Ethan Gunpot, Jacob Collymore, Patrick Dowden and Ethan Chu Fook, comprise the males.
There are six first timers to the team this year ; among them are Ethan Gunpot, Ethan Chu Fook, Kaleb Williams, Patrick Dowden, Glenes Angeliner Jackson- Bain, and Keira Cawich. Both Tilly Collymore and Sara Dowden, who are both based off island, have competed in several international competitions, such as the Commonwealth Games and Junior and Senior Worlds, and Collymore in the 2024 Paris Olympics. They both are also previous Carifta medalists.
In addition to the events in the pool, Tilly and Jacob Collymore are scheduled to compete in the open water competition on April 23rd. All athletes are currently engaged in training , and are expected as usual to execute some great performances. Each athlete will compete in an average of seven events.
