The Grenada Football Association (GFA) Premier League 2025 season got off to an electrifying start last Saturday, with fans treated to a thrilling display of football across several venues. Defending champions Paradise FC International began their title defense with a commanding 3-0 victory, while FC Camerhogne stole the spotlight with a dominant performance.
At the Roy St. John Playing Field, FC Camerhogne announced their intentions early with a 4-0 demolition of Shamrock SC. Joshua Pascal opened the scoring in the 11th minute, followed by Ethan Telesford’s strike just before halftime. The second half saw continued dominance, with Koby Rigby scoring in the 63rd minute and Kobe King adding a late goal in the 90th.
Paradise FC International looked every bit the reigning champions in their 3-0 win over newly promoted North Stars. Keston Williams netted twice (7’, 35’) while Joshua Isaac added another in the 31st to secure a comfortable result.
In one of the more surprising outcomes of the weekend, Sab Spartans edged out Queens Park Rangers FC 2-0, thanks to an own goal in the 68th minute and a stoppage-time strike from Darren Modoo.
Hurricanes SC also made a strong statement with a 2-0 win over Hard Rock, powered by a brace from Kriston Julien (3’, 70’). Meanwhile, St. John’s Sports made a confident start by defeating newcomers St. David’s FC 2-0, with goals from Shevin Joseph (14’) and Garth Thomas (36’).
“The opening day showcased the competitive spirit and talent within the league,” said GFA General Secretary Carl Lee. “We are excited to see how the teams build on this momentum as the season progresses. The level of play and fan enthusiasm promises an unforgettable season.”
With the season underway, clubs are keen to stake their early claims for the title. If the opening round is any indication, fans can expect a fiercely contested and memorable 2025 campaign.
