Grenada’s Cultural Ambassador and international soca star Hollice “Mr. Killa” Mapp has been honoured with the EuroKnowledge Award for Global Cultural Impact and Community Empowerment, at the EuroKnowledge Leadership and Philanthropy Forum, held at the House of Lords in London.
The prestigious recognition celebrates outstanding individuals whose leadership, creativity, and service have made a transformative global impact. For Mapp, the award represents both a personal milestone and a powerful symbol of Caribbean culture’s growing global resonance.
“I would like to first extend my gratitude to the Almighty Creator for His blessings, His love, His mercies and His navigation that has brought me to this point of my life,” Mapp shared. “This recognition holds deep significance. It’s a reminder for every young boy and girl that it is possible to make the world know your name. Keep believing in yourself until the world believes in you.”
The EuroKnowledge Leadership and Philanthropy Forum is an annual gathering hosted by EuroKnowledge Limited, a UK-based strategic communications consultancy. The forum celebrates global achievers and thought leaders in business, philanthropy, governance, culture, and innovation.
Previous honorees include policymakers, humanitarian leaders, and cultural icons who have contributed to international development and social progress.
This year’s ceremony, staged in the historic House of Lords, placed a spotlight on creative figures whose work transcends borders — and Mapp’s role as an ambassador of Grenadian and Caribbean culture earned him special distinction.
“I remain committed to elevating Grenadian and Caribbean culture through artistic innovation, community engagement, and cross-cultural dialogue,” Mapp continued. “This award is a meaningful reminder that our stories, heritage, and creative expressions continue to make a global impact.”
Known globally for his electrifying stage performances and pioneering sound that fuses traditional soca with modern world music influences, Mr. Killa has long been an advocate for youth empowerment and community development through culture. His artistry and mentorship have inspired a generation of performers and strengthened Grenada’s footprint in international entertainment.
Mapp also expressed heartfelt thanks to those who have supported his journey:
“Sincere thanks to the EuroKnowledge committee and all stakeholders who continue to believe in and support the power of culture as a force for unity, empowerment, and transformation. And there is a special thanks I have kept for the end — to my mother, family, manager, team, fans, and supporters. To those who told me I wouldn’t be who I am today — know that you have motivated me. My journey has just begun.”
The EuroKnowledge Award for Global Cultural Impact and Community Empowerment underscores Mapp’s expanding influence beyond the Caribbean, reinforcing his reputation as a cultural innovator and advocate for positive social change through the arts.
With this achievement, Mr. Killa joins a distinguished group of global visionaries whose work embodies leadership, philanthropy, and cultural excellence — a proud moment for Grenada, and a resounding affirmation of Caribbean artistry on the world stage.
