The Ministry of the Blue Economy and Marine Affairs (BEMA), in collaboration with the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Commission, under the OECS Food and Agriculture Systems Transformation (FAST) and the Blue Economy Strategy will host a capacity-building initiative to support the Sea Moss Industry in Grenada.
The training will be conducted from 26th – 28th January 2026 in the form of a national workshop on the first two days, followed by a field visit on the final day. This initiative is designed to enhance the technical, entrepreneurial, and market-readiness capacity of stakeholders within the sea moss value chain.
Participants will gain firsthand exposure to best practices, theoretical and practical knowledge across key areas including production, harvesting and post-harvesting practices, food safety, product development, marketing and business development and management.
This initiative forms part of ongoing local and regional efforts to promote sustainable livelihoods, improve food security and foster resilience within the blue economy sectors.
