A team from the National Water and\u00a0 Sewerage Authority (NAWASA), met with residents and business owners in Clarkes Court Bay,\u00a0 on Monday February 28th, 2022, to appraise them on the pending commencement of the\u00a0 Clarkes Court Bay Pipeline Upgrade.<\/p>\n
The project, scheduled to commence on March 14th, 2022, will see the existing network,\u00a0 upgraded from two (2) inch to six (6) inch mains, that will improve the volume of supply to the\u00a0 community, which has for years, complained of challenges with low pressure.<\/p>\n
The project, being executed at a cost of two hundred thousand dollars XCD ($200,000.00),\u00a0 involves the laying of three thousand one hundred and twelve (3,112) feet of six-inch ductile\u00a0 iron pipes, from the junction with the Woodlands main road, through to the Clarkes Court Bay\u00a0 Marina, as well as upgrading of the existing lateral lines.<\/p>\n
Residents welcomed the project, with many of them referring to the challenges they\u00a0 experience daily and expressed excitement at the prospects of the upgrade.<\/p>\n
NAWASA\u2019s Line Minister Senator Norland Cox, who was part of the delegation that met with\u00a0 residents, admonished those present to \u2013 even with the network upgrade \u2013 see the value of\u00a0 having storage and also to explore the possibility of rain water harvesting, with a view to easing\u00a0 the stress on the system, in the face of increased demand.<\/p>\n
The contract for the execution of the Clarkes Court Bay Pipeline Upgrade, was awarded to\u00a0 Merryman\u2019s Construction and is expected, once it begins, to be completed in a period of two\u00a0 months.<\/p>\n
Monday\u2019s meeting was attended by NAWASA Line Minister Senator Norland Cox; Manager of\u00a0 NAWASA\u2019s Planning and Development Department, Mr. Whyme Cox; Engineering Assistant\u00a0 Mr. Samuel Spooner and Communications Assistant Ms. Wendy Chasteau.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
