Over the weekend, the Grenada U17 Women\u2019s National Team\u00a0 participated in a team camp as preparations kick into high gear ahead of the\u00a0 Concacaf Women\u2019s Championship in the Dominican Republic from 23rd April \u2013 8th\u00a0 May 2022.<\/p>\n
The team consisting of 25 young women were accommodated in the newly\u00a0 completed 3rd floor of the GFA Headquarters at Queen\u2019s Park. Under the\u00a0 stewardship of Coach Randy Boca, the team participated in a number of fitness,\u00a0 technical and personal development sessions during the weekend camp.<\/p>\n
16 teams are participating in the upcoming Championship and Grenada is in Group\u00a0 G along with defending Champions, the United States of America, Costa Rica and\u00a0 Puerto Rico. The Spice Princesses had an automatic qualification to the final round\u00a0 of competition having been ranked 15th in the Confederation.<\/p>\n
Grenada which hosted the tournament in 2016, commenced training for this major\u00a0 event last year in which the team had the opportunity to play friendly matches\u00a0 against the Antigua U17s. Similar practice opportunities will be secured in the\u00a0 coming weeks to give the team more playing time on the field.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
