The Spiceboyz dominated much of their Concacaf Nations League\u00a0 home fixture against El Salvador but lost out on the chance for an outright win in the last few\u00a0 minutes of the match.<\/p>\n
In a much improved display over their first match in El Salvador, Grenada was first on the\u00a0 scoreboard on Tuesday night at the Kirani James Athletics Stadium with Jacob Berkeley Agyepong\u00a0 converting a deflected ball in the El Salvador half in the 29th\u00a0minute.<\/p>\n
As with the first match, both sides scored goals in quick succession of each other, as El Salvador\u2019s\u00a0 Alexander Larin converted a spot kick six (6) minutes after Grenada; the opportunity coming off\u00a0 a foul of Nelson Bonilla.<\/p>\n
In the second half, Grenada\u2019s star striker Jamal Ray Charles scored his seventh Concacaf Nations\u00a0 League goal in the 54th minute with a lovely right foot shot after breaking free of El Salvador\u2019s\u00a0 defense.<\/p>\n
Grenada did not give El Salvador many opportunities to equalize until the 88th\u00a0minute when Cristian Gil found the net after an initial save by Grenada\u2019s goal keeper Jason Belfon.<\/p>\n
Following the match Jamal Charles said, \u201cThe team played very well but we were dissapointed\u00a0 that we did not get the win. We will go back to work on our weaknesses as we look forward to\u00a0 facing the USA.\u201d<\/p>\n
Senior Men\u2019s Head Coach Michael Findlay said, \u201c We dominated most of the match and should\u00a0 have won, but the loss of concentration cost us victory. However, the team\u2019s excellenct\u00a0 performance shows that the Senior Men\u2019s programme is bearing fruit.\u201d<\/p>\n
