A total of\u00a0 <b>2,471\u00a0<\/b>candidates were registered to write\u00a0<b>CXC (CSEC) examinations<\/b>, of which\u00a0<b>one thousand\u00a0 five hundred sixty-nine (1,569)\u00a0<\/b>were female and\u00a0<b>nine hundred and two (902)\u00a0<\/b>were males.\u00a0<b>Two\u00a0 thousand, three hundred and twenty-five (2,325)\u00a0<\/b>were candidates attending school, while\u00a0<b>one\u00a0 hundred and forty-six (146)\u00a0<\/b>were private candidates.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"td-outer-wrap\" class=\"td-theme-wrap\">\n<div class=\"td-main-content-wrap td-container-wrap\">\n<div class=\"td-container td-post-template-default \">\n<div class=\"td-pb-row\">\n<div class=\"td-pb-span8 td-main-content\" role=\"main\">\n<div class=\"td-ss-main-content\">\n<article id=\"post-32519\" class=\"post-32519 post type-post status-publish format-standard has-post-thumbnail category-featured category-grenada-news category-latest-news\">\n<div class=\"td-post-content tagdiv-type\">\n<p>There were\u00a0<b>12,232\u00a0<\/b>subject entries in thirty-three (33) subject areas. Twenty-three (23) secondary\u00a0 schools, and twenty-nine (29) private centres participated in the examination. Nos.: (473) 440-2166, 440-3162, 440-2791 Fax: (473) 440-7701\u00a0\u00a0\u2219\u00a0E-mail:\u00a0education@gov.gd,\u00a0ps@moe.gov.gd<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<b>subjects with the highest percentage pass\u00a0<\/b>were Theatre Arts\u00a0<b>(100%),\u00a0<\/b>Physical Education\u00a0 and Sport\u00a0<b>(97.76%),\u00a0<\/b>Industrial Technology Building\u00a0<b>(95.54%),\u00a0<\/b>Agricultural Science SA\u00a0\u00a0<b>(94.96%),\u00a0<\/b>Industrial Technology Electrical\u00a0<b>(94.80%),\u00a0<\/b>Food, Nutrition and Health\u00a0<b>(94.37%),\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>Family and Resource Management\u00a0<b>(92.71%),\u00a0<\/b>and Principles of Business\u00a0<b>(91.58%).\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<b>subjects with the lowest percentage pass\u00a0<\/b>were, Religious Education\u00a0<b>(32.26%),\u00a0<\/b>Mathematics\u00a0<b>(33.44%),\u00a0<\/b>French\u00a0<b>(39.66%),\u00a0<\/b>Spanish\u00a0<b>(53.33%),\u00a0<\/b>and Chemistry\u00a0<b>(59.93).\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Performance in Mathematics declined by 1.54%, from\u00a0<b>34.98%\u00a0<\/b>in 2021 to\u00a0<b>33.44%\u00a0<\/b>in 2022. The\u00a0 percentage pass was\u00a0<b>43.56%\u00a0<\/b>in 2020. Performance in Biology and Physics increased by 1.55% and 0.4%, respectively. Chemistry decreased by 10.61%.
