Prime Minister, Honourable Dickon Mitchell will leave the country\u00a0 today to attend the 84th Conference of the People\u2019s National Party (PNP) in Jamaica,\u00a0 following which he will travel to New York to participate in the 77th Session of the United\u00a0 Nations General Assembly (UNGA 77).<\/p>\n
Prime Minister Mitchell will deliver the Feature Address on the occasion of the PNP\u2019s 84th\u00a0 Anniversary on Thursday, September 15, in Kingston, Jamaica. The Prime Minister will\u00a0 then travel on to New York on Friday, September 16, where he will begin a series of\u00a0 engagements as part of the UNGA 77, that include meetings with world leaders to discuss\u00a0 global issues with implications for Grenada and the small island states of the Caribbean.\u00a0 Prime Minister Mitchell will be accompanied in New York by the Minister of Foreign Affairs,\u00a0 Trade and Export Development, Honourable Joseph Andall, and a delegation from the\u00a0 Ministry of Foreign Affairs.<\/p>\n
Notable engagements include Honourable Dickon Mitchell\u2019s participation as a keynote\u00a0 speaker at the United Nations Foundation\u2019s\u00a0Unlock the Future of Learning\u00a0<\/i>event to be\u00a0 held on September 19 at the Ford Foundation in New York. The audience will include\u00a0 leaders, education champions, young changemakers and activists from around the world.<\/p>\n
The Honourable Prime Minister is also expected to address the high-level General Debate\u00a0 on Saturday, September 24. Any changes in the schedule will be communicated via the\u00a0 Government Information Service.<\/p>\n
The delegation is scheduled to return on September 25, 2022.<\/p>\n
