St. George: The 27th Meeting of the United Nations Framework
\nConvention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is ongoing at Sharm El Sheik, Egypt from
\nNovember 6-18, 2022.<\/p>\n
Hon. Kerryne James is attending the Ministerial Sessions from 14-18th November, 2022.<\/p>\n
The minister delivered a national statement on 15th November 2022 and made a strong call for climate actions, the need to channel finance in general to support concrete development proposals and financing for loss and damage.<\/p>\n
The Minister also expressed concerns about the limited implementation of the Glasgow Climate Pact.<\/p>\n
COP 27 focuses on implementation and key topics are Climate finance and Accessing
\nClimate Finance.<\/p>\n
This conference is building on the success of previous sessions and aims at scaling up ambitions to urgently address the global challenge of climate change.<\/p>\n
The Minister is leading a delegation from Grenada comprising of Mrs. Terah Antoine,
\nEnergy Officer; Ms. Rae Thomas, Crown Counsel, Dr. Spencer Thomas and Leon
\nCharles, Climate Negotiators; Ms. Jovana Hoschtialek, Youth Representative and Mr.
\nJerry Enoe, Board Member of GSWMA.<\/p>\n
Minister James will participate in bilateral meetings with various government officials and will return to Grenada on November 19, 2022.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
