The Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports,\u00a0and Culture congratulates Grenadian Soul\/Pop Artiste Jeverson Ramirez on receiving a\u00a0golden ticket on his audition on the ABC American Idol Show, which was aired on Sunday\u00a0night, affording him the opportunity to travel to Hollywood for the next round of\u00a0competition.<\/p>\n
Ramirez, who is from the village of Mardigras, St. George\u2019s made history by being the first Grenadian artiste to perform on the American Idol stage.<\/p>\n
Jeverson Ramirez is well known for his sweet soulful voice and energetic performances at\u00a0events throughout Grenada as well as abroad.<\/p>\n
The Grenadian singer\/songwriter thrilled judges with his international flavour, which,\u00a0according to judge Lionel Richie, made quite an impression as the show celebrates its\u00a0\u201ctwenty-first birthday around the world\u201d.<\/p>\n
Being a proud representative of the Spice Isle of the Caribbean, Jeverson was seen waving\u00a0his Grenada flag and his golden ticket in the American Idol video which circulated on\u00a0Facebook on Monday.<\/p>\n
Minister of State with responsibility for Youth and Sports, Hon. Ron Redhead said this\u00a0achievement by Ramirez speaks volumes of the talents that young Grenadians possess. He\u00a0also commended the Grenadian artiste for his perseverance and zeal in pursuing his musical\u00a0dreams. He said Ramirez is a living example that dreams come true if you remain focused.<\/p>\n
