MIAMI, Florida \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0Nia Thompson scored a hat trick to help lift Grenada to a 4-1 win over Bahamas in Group C of League C of the Road to W Gold Cup on Sunday afternoon at Kirani James Athletic Stadium in St. George\u2019s, Grenada.<\/p>\n

Following up on her brace from Wednesday night\u2019s 6-1 win versus Bahamas, Thompson added another three score to give her five goals during the window.<\/p>\n

Nia Thompson<\/strong>\u00a0opened the scoring for Grenada in the 11\u2019 by receiving a through ball and finishing with her left foot for a 1-0 Grenada lead.<\/p>\n

Bahamas hung tough, though, and just minutes before halftime they managed to pull level 1-1 when Janeka Edey pulled up from about 40 yards out and hit a perfect shot that floated over the fingertips of Grenada\u00a0GK Keona Salandy<\/strong>\u00a0and into net.<\/p>\n

Grenada managed to wrestle back control at the start of the second stanza and pulled ahead 2-1 in the 47\u2019 thanks to\u00a0Melania Fullerton<\/strong>, who pounced on an attempted clearance and fired into goal.<\/p>\n

Thompson then scored her second of the day in the 55\u2019 to extend the Grenada lead to 3-1 by collecting a pass and skillfully rounding Bahamas\u00a0GK Melina McClure<\/strong>\u00a0before finishing for the goal.<\/p>\n

Thompson then completed her hat trick in the 72\u2019 by stripping the Bahamas defense of the ball, avoiding McClure and calmly slotting into an empty net for a 4-1 advantage that held until the final whistle.<\/p>\n
