More training opportunities are being afforded to young men on the islands of Carriacou and Petite Martinique.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This includes a first\u00a0group of 6 male youth who are participating in a dive certification course, organised by the Division of Youth within the Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Local Government.<\/p>\n

Keron Bristol, Project Officer within the Division of Youth, said they are looking at non-traditional skills training to enable young people on the island to become more employable, even becoming self-employed.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the first time the Division of Youth is offering such training. Deefer Diving, located in Hillsborough, is facilitating the training, with Gary Ward and Steve Ellery as trainers.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, as Government prepares to expand the tourism sector on the island, plans are in the making for an underwater sculpture park here.<\/p>\n
