The Government of Grenada is pleased to announce the successful completion of negotiations to lease the Kawana Bay site to\u00a0Naguib Sawiris,\u00a0owner of\u00a0 the Silver Sands Hotel. Prime Minister, the Honourable Dickon Mitchell made the\u00a0 announcement at a ribbon cutting ceremony last evening for the commissioning of Silversands\u00a0Beach House in Point Salines.<\/p>\n
Following a short period of study and design the Silversands team will soon re-start construction\u00a0 at the site to complete a 5-star resort.<\/p>\n
Part of the deal for the Kawana Bay site was the surrender of the Riviera site which sits adjacent\u00a0 to the Camerhogne Park on Grand Anse Beach. This affords the government an opportunity to\u00a0 expand and enhance the public space on Grand Anse Beach. The expanded public park will be\u00a0 declared National Heroes Park in celebration of our heroes past and present.<\/p>\n
