The final (external) component of the\u00a0Caribbean Primary Exit Assessment\u00a0 (CPEA)\u00a0<\/b>is scheduled for\u00a0Wednesday, May 15,\u00a0<\/b>and\u00a0Thursday, May 16, 2024.\u00a0\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

In 2023, five\u00a0(5) schools\u00a0<\/b>were used to pilot the administration of the CPEA assessment through\u00a0e testing<\/b>. This year, 2024, twenty-one\u00a0(21) schools\u00a0<\/b>throughout the tri-island state will be taking the\u00a0 assessment online.<\/p>\n

One thousand, seven hundred and seven (1,707) students are registered\u00a0<\/b>for the assessment\u00a0 from seventy-two\u00a0(72)\u00a0<\/b>schools. There are eight hundred and forty-five\u00a0(845) males\u00a0<\/b>and eight\u00a0 hundred and sixty-two\u00a0(862) females<\/b>. In 2023,\u00a0one thousand eight hundred and seventy-seven\u00a0 (1,877)\u00a0<\/b>students were registered for the assessment. This figure comprised one thousand and\u00a0 twenty-eight\u00a0(1,028) males\u00a0<\/b>and\u00a0eight hundred and forty-nine (849) females.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

The CPEA external assessment for 2024 commences at\u00a09:00 a.m<\/b>. and will be conducted in fifty nine (59) centres throughout Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique. It is expected that all\u00a0 students will finish the examination at\u00a012:15 p.m.\u00a0<\/b>each day.<\/p>\n

CPEA is open to all primary school students who are at least eleven (11) years of age or will be\u00a0 11 years old by September 1, 2024. The external examination will consist of four (4) multiple choice papers in the following areas:<\/p>\n

  1. Mathematics (50 items)\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n
  2. Language Arts (50 items)\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n
  3. Science (50 items)\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n
  4. Social Studies (50 items)\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Each paper will be seventy-five (75) minutes in duration. Table 1 reflects the schedule for the examination.<\/p>\n

    NB:\u00a0<\/b>No mobile telephones, electronic calculators or any other electronic devices will be allowed at the\u00a0 examination centres. Students sitting at the\u00a0e-testing centres\u00a0<\/b>will be provided with computers.\u00a0All\u00a0 candidates should bring along 3B or 2B pencils to answer multiple choice questions.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

    Please note that in 2024, only the top 200 students will be awarded their first choice, subject to\u00a0 the availability of space. Also, students will not be ranked<\/i><\/b>.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n
